Here is why Barack Obama will lose the debate on foreign policy:
1) Barack Obama is a man of the left, and therefore believes that America is an imperialist nation that got its wealth by stealing from other nations. He believes that America therefore needs to be kicked down a few notches, and one way this can be achieved is by weakening the military.
2) Barack Obama is a man of the left, and therefore believes that shrinking our military is a way of making peace with our enemies and rogue nations around the world.
The problem with this is that in dangerous areas of the world, where America withdraws its military presence, evil rears its ugly head.
When our enemies and rogue nations see America weakening (i.e. shrinking our military), it provokes them to attack our interests abroad. We have just seen this as the Middle East is on fire right now because evil people (i.e. the people in Benghazi Libya) have sensed that we have a weak president.
You don’t need to have foreign policy experience to understand this. Regardless, Barack Obama doesn’t understand this. Therefore, before the debate even begins, he’s already wrong in his world view.
Mitt Romney will clearly make the case that a stronger America makes for a more peaceful world, and will guarantee the safety of Americans abroad. History has proven this. Therefore, before the debate even begins, he’s already correct in his world view.
Which is why Mitt Romney will win the debate, and Barack Obama will lose.
