End of Abortion?

Kermit Gosnell was found guilty today of three murders of three babies and a manslaughter of a woman who had come in for an abortion. He was also found guilty of  “258 counts total and other charges against him include one count of infanticide and one of racketeering, 24 counts of performing third-trimester abortions and 227 counts of failing to follow the 24-hour waiting period law before an abortion so women can consider its risks and alternatives.” [Steven Ertelt. His abortion practice was called a House of Horrors and  during the trial it was discussed that “Baby Boy A was so large, he did not fit into the plastic shoe box that Gosnell tossed him in.” This is how we have come to regard human life, as disposable-quite literally in this case.

Though the mainstream media tried to gloss over the trial and not report on it at all as demonstrated by this quote: “For what it’s worth, I do think that those of us on the Left have made a decision not to cover this trial because we worry that it’ll compromise abortion rights,” said Marc Lamont Hill, a Columbia University professor known for his frequent appearance on Fox News. “Whether you agree with abortion or not, I do think there’s a direct connection between the media’s failure to cover this and our own political commitments on the Left.”[Ben Johnson.  LifeSite News.  April 17, 2013. http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/liberal-commentator-the-media-made-a-decision-not-to-cover-gosnell-to-prote/] However, despite their “best intentions” coverage of the trial found its way onto social media, such as Facebook, Twitter and other such outlets. It was due to the overwhelming presence of these outlets that the Left eventually had to cover it or be called irrelevant.

So what will be the outcome of all this? Will the Gosnell trial be the beginning of the end for abortion in this country? It

very well could be. More than any other trial (and there haven’t been all that many) in recent years for abortion doctors such as Milan Vuitich, who is a hero in the abortion community and whose case went all the way to the Supreme Court or the  George Tiller case, which also lost its momentum early on. While Tiller and Gosnell are par for the course for the kind of abortions they did, it was Gosnell whose trial really brought to the spotlight what is done behind closed doors. The liberals will try to say that the justice system is making an example of him because he is Black.

The truth is that no one really took the time in George Tiller‘s case to really investigate exactly what this man was doing, so it was no surprise that the jury came back with a no guilty verdict. Pro-lifers were not going to let another serial killer-which is what Tiller was and Gosnell is-go free. They were going to stay on the case like white on rice and make sure justice prevailed this time.

It is not just the Gosnell trial that is in the news as of late, it is abortion itself. With its continuing coverage and the truth emerging the pro-choicers know that they are losing. You can only keep up  a lie for so long. The house of cards is beginning to fall.

With 4D ultrasounds, as seen to the left, it is no longer easy or logical to deny the humanity of the unborn child.  Even Judge Blackmun who oversaw the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court trial conceded as much back in 1973: ” If this suggestion of personhood is established, the appellant’s case, of course, collapses, for the fetus’ right to life would then be guaranteed specifically by the Amendment.” With this trial and the ongoing science, along with amendments making them on the ballot in various states, personhood for the unborn is a lot closer than people think.

We must continue to fight the good fight and not get wearied. We must not let the pro-choicers win. We cannot let them frame the argument or create the verbiage that continues to allow them to get away with murder. Is it the end of abortion? Well not quite yet but we are winning. However, we cannot make this barbaric act illegal soon enough for me.
